Hafnia-Hallen is Denmark’s largest multihal sports centre, located in Valby Idrætspark in Copenhagen. Formerly know as Club Danmark Hallen, the centre has undergone a major refurbishment and has reopened under a new name and visual identity, developed and designed by Re-public.
The new sports centre invites community groups from all over Copenhagen to come together, providing facilities for both recreational and professional elite sports. The nearly 10,000 m2 feature an astro turf arena, mini soccer pitches, courts for basket and handball, beachvolley sand courts, a rock climbing wall, fitness areas, conference rooms and more.
Complementary to the new architecture and physical spaces, the visual identity is sporting clean lines, vibrant colors and clear-cut typography with a freindly look and feel. The design concept is based on an adaptation of the iconic floor line markings of the different types of courts, fields and tracks – and is carried through in both the dynamic logo mark as well as the signage and wayfinding system. The expression is clean and simple, yet at the same playful and unexpected.
