Folkekirken Vesterbro
—
A unifying identity for seven churches
Folkekirken Vesterbro is the largest parish within the Danish National Church, encompassing seven churches in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro district. Serving a large and diverse congregation, activities range from traditional church functions to unconventional events like drag concerts, drop-in weddings, meditation sessions, philosophical talks, and vital social work for the marginalised.
The visual identity serves as a framework, bringing forward the content and messages of each individual church, while maintaining a unifying identity across the parish. At the same time, the visual language offers calmness and clarity, counterbalancing the visual overload of the busy Vesterbro. A subtle typographic modification integrates the cross into every written message, ensuring the symbol of Christianity is present across all platforms, from wordmarks and signage to posters and digital media.
